1954 Rolex Turn-O-Graph Steel Datejust 6309 Red Depth Honeycomb Dial

Steel Datejust final boss.

$89,950

OVERVIEW

The 1950s was a truly pivotal decade for Rolex with the brand introducing some of the most iconic tool watches in history: The very first Rolex Submariner, Explorer, & Turn-O-Graph in 1953 and the Milgauss in 1956. The earliest examples of these models are now the most valuable vintage Rolexes money can buy, especially the ones that feature a Honeycomb dial like the 6350 Explorer or the 6541 Milgauss. Another lesser known model introduced in the early 1950s was the first Turn-O-Graph Datejust 6309.

‍While a steel Datejust has always been positioned as an entry-level everyday watch, this particular example has every special feature a steel Datejust can have to max out its extravagance, including a honeycomb dial, red depth print, and a turnable bezel. As far as any Rolex goes this is a very exceptional watch, but for one of the most ubiquitous models ever it’s a damn unicorn.
