1967 Rolex GMT-Master 1675 MK0.5 “Long E”

Vibrant Thing

$OLD

OVERVIEW

What we have here is the ultimate example of one of the first iterations of the matte dial Rolex GMT-Master 1675 known to collectors as a “Long E”, but this particular one is also known as a “mk0.5”. Different from the mk1 in that it still uses the same zinc lume and the same small GMT hand as earlier gilt dials versions, these examples were produced for only a very short period of time in 1967, which was a transitional year for the 1675.

As far as any vintage watch goes, this is as good as it gets, with a perfect dial and handset, unpolished case and bracelet, overall even patina and to top it off a very vibrant and attractive bezel insert with the perfect colors.

CONDITION NOTES

CASE: Very sharp & unpolished case featuring thick lugs and its original shape and chamfers.

DIAL: Perfect MK0.5 matte dial with tritium+zinc sulfide lume that glows under UV and quickly dissipates without.

HANDS: Excellent handset with matching lume as the dial. Small GMT hand is correct for early 1967

MOVEMENT: Running well with high amplitude and accuracy.
