OVERVIEW

Let’s face it, the coolest thing about a Rolex 1675 is the array of colors and fonts of the bezel inserts one might find today. Value mostly comes down to preference, but in general the most desirable examples have inserts with vibrant unique colors and the fatter the font the better. As far as desirability goes, this insert with its petrol blue and tomato red colors and its mega fat font totally takes the cake.

Of course, a big part of what makes something in the watch world valuable is its scarcity. These inserts with the mega fat font, much like many other valuable traits in vintage Rolex land was not intentional. It’s actually caused by the printing cliché getting worn down over time which produces the fat bubbly numbers you see here. Eventually, the cliché gets replaced and then the inserts are printed in normal boring font again.

While the insert is the star, it’s a part of an overall fantastic watch with a perfect dial, and minty unpolished case with all original parts. There are many Rolex 1675’s out there, but anyone would be hard-pressed to just go out and find one as clean, unique, and beautiful as this one.
