OVERVIEW

The coveted “Red Sub” is the earlier version of the Rolex 1680 Submariner being produced from 1968 to 1975 with red “SUBMARINER” text on the dial. All subsequent 1680 Submariners were produced with only white text. While the Red Sub makes up about 40% of all 1680 Submariners, the MK1 dial seen here was produced for only a very short period of time and make up less than 2% of all 1680 Submariner that we know of. In other words, this watch is RARE.

CONDITION NOTES

CASE: Artfully polished in the past with sharp thick lugs and prominent chamfers.

DIAL: Stunning original dial free of any major blemishes. Nice creamy original lume.

HANDS: Excellent original handset with matching patina and lume.

MOVEMENT: Running optimally and in clean condition.
