1972 Rolex Red Submariner 1665 MK4 Dial

What vintage dreams are made of.

OVERVIEW

Easily one of the most coveted vintage Rolex sports models, the 1665 “Double Red” Seadweller was developed by Rolex in conjunction with COMEX, the famed French deep sea diving company. Based off the Submariner platform, the Seadweller features a thicker case and Helium Escape Valve allowing it to reach depths of 2000 ft. Not only is it highly utilitarian, but this watch is a blast to wear and handsome as hell.

This particular watch was found in Mexico on its original “Hecho En Mexico” jubilee bracelet (pictured in the last photo), but I also wanted to add a traditional and correct Rolex diver bracelet simply because I think most buyers would prefer it. When I received the watch, the bezel couldn’t even turn because it had decades of dirt and other gross stuff underneath (the bracelet as well), but ultimately this is what I love seeing when acquiring a vintage watch. The movement is in excellent condition and keeping time well, but if desired the buyer can opt for a service prior to the watch being delivered for good measure.
