1977 Rolex Datejust 1601 Matte Black Dial

Unexpectedly unusual.

$6,950

OVERVIEW

Matte black might be the most ubiquitous dial variations for a majority of watches in the world, but for the Rolex Datejust it’s actually the most unusual. And compared to the typical glossy black dial or sunburst dials in various colors, the matte black version of the Datejust might actually be the most satisfying to wear while also being the most versatile. Especially with warm lume plots, it provides the perfect canvas to either blend in or contrast with any outfit. Wear it on the bracelet and it’s as understated as a watch can get. Wear it on a contrasting tan or beige strap and it’s as striking and classy as a Birkin bag.

CONDITION NOTES

CASE: Sharp and thick. Minor wear on the inside tip of the 7:00 lug from a loose connecting link which I have since fixed. Bezel is in great shape with sharp facets.

DIAL & HANDS: Perfect matte black dial with full original lume plots in light yellow patina. Hands have natural light aging and matching original lume.

MOVEMENT: In great shape and running optimally.
