1984 Cartier Tank Normale 78093 18k Gold Paris Dial
The true Tank.
$10,950
OVERVIEW
When most people think about a classic Cartier Tank they might envision the Tank Louis with its sleek rounded barrel lugs, but it was actually the Tank Normale that Louis Cartier designed as the first ever Tank variant in 1917. That makes sense looking at it now as the story of Louis Cartier being inspired by the shape of the Renault tanks he saw during WWI is well-known. The Tank Normale looks more like an actual tank than every other variant in history, and its shape probably the most masculine with its thick and sharp blunt edges and chamfers. The 78093 is the slightly smaller version from the more common sized 78092 manual wind (but still larger than the ladies quartz) it’s definitely ideal for most ladies wrists, though a slim wristed fellow could definitely rock it proudly. Also some heavy bonus points for featuring the sought-after “Paris” dial which were primarily produced for the French market throughout the 1970s and 80s and were often replaced in the future at Cartier service centers for “SWISS” or “SWISS MADE” dials.
