1972 Heuer Monaco 73633B Blue Manual Chronograph
The best version of the Heuer Monaco.

OVERVIEW
The Monaco is without a doubt the most famous watch Heuer has ever produced, being popularized by none other than the ultimate man’s man Steve McQueen in the movie LeMans. While the Monaco 1133B McQueen wears features the “World’s first automatic chronograph” movement, the manual wind on my wrist is to me the best version of the Heuer Monaco aesthetically. Three registers vs two, crown on the right vs the left, and no date is more in line with the traditional minimalist design values that made Heuer great in the 1960s.
What makes this particular example even greater is its amazing near mint, “safe queen” condition, with original corfam strap & Heuer Sun buckle.
CONDITION NOTES
CASE: MINT untouched and barely worn. Some people might call it NOS or close to it. I call it damn near perfect.
DIAL: Beautiful original dial with some light staining on the edges which is normal even though it’s unworn. Over a long period of time the gaskets on these turn to jelly on their own which makes finding an original dial with clean edges almost impossible. If anything, the dial tells us that it has lived in this case its entire life rather than being a loose dial or even refinshed.
HANDS: Perfect hands with original lume that matches the dial and has turned a wonderful pumpkin color.
MOVEMENT: Pristine condition and recently serviced running accurately.
